Strategic Leadership and Good Governance (1 day or two ½ days)

Run a Board you can be proud of

Do your Office Bearers know their duties and responsibilities? Are your funds being used to their full potential?

When investing in a business, we want to be assured of one thing: that our money is in safe hands, that the assets with which management has been entrusted are being deployed effectively, in accordance with the stated strategy and with sufficient controls to protect us from excessive risk.

Good corporate governance is the very lifeblood of businesses throughout the world; it is a way of structuring business that ensures;

  • minimal confusion about responsibilities,
  • good decisions being made by the right people,
  • important decisions are made in minimal time,
  • established systems and processes ensure your business runs smoothly,
  • sufficient internal checks and balances are in place; and
  • reporting on business which means that management ‘tells it how it is’ rather than hiding behind the minimum statutory reporting requirement.

The Role of the Management Committee/Board

The workshop is designed for people who hold Committee/Board positions, or are considering such roles, who want to understand more fully their responsibilities. It comprised numerous case studies and exercises. (Note: The workshop can be conducted over two half-days. The half-day workshop Boards, Committees and Legalities, complements this workshop.)
