Occupational Health and Safety (1/2 day)

This workshop is suitable for members of boards/management committees, and managers and coordinators of volunteers. It covers establishing, maintaining and evaluating an organisations OH&S policies and programs in accordance with OH&S legal requirements. The suite of Legally Speaking workshops complements this workshop.

Aim

To familiarise participants with current OH&S legislative requirements as they relate to volunteers and organisations employing volunteers.

1. Current legislation and the key requirements
2. Duty of care
3. The requirements of an effective OH&S policy and procedures for your volunteers and what they must cover
4. Establishing and maintaining participative arrangements for the management of your OH&S system
5. Assessing and controlling risk
6. Identifying hazards
