Speak Up! Speak Out! Public Speaking Workshops

Workshops conducted by SpeakersBank

Following pilot workshops conducted in late 2007, the School of Volunteer Management partnered with SpeakersBank to deliver in New South Wales Speak Up! Speak Out! Workshops.

The workshops were conducted by Dale Rees-Bevan of SpeakersBank Australia Inc, who has been involved in public speaking and training since 1993. She is an experienced competitor in international speaking competitions and has set-up public speaking programs in South Africa and the UK, which are still running today. Dale was a director of SpeakersBank UK before moving to Australia in 2005 and setting up SpeakersBank Australia, of which she is a director.

The fast, fun and supportive workshops allow participants to learn and develop public speaking skills, and to obtain tips and techniques to be a better communicator generally. They focused on the three core competencies for communication as a speaker and presenter: delivery, structure and material.

"Last weeks public speaking workshops were beneficial in that they gave me some good tips for improving a skills I use almost every day. I wasn’t sure they would have any new information for me but they did! The crew was helpful and friendly and the workshops ran smoothly."
Simone Curry, Conservation Volunteers Australia
